Photo Friday: Mevlevi or Whirling Dervish

Last week I featured a photo from a Turkish Belly Dance Bazaar that was taken by photographer kT LindaSAy. I discovered a number of other beautiful photos from her Turkey collection, so I am going to feature another one this week and one more next week.

This is one of Turkey’s Mevlevi - the caption will again explain more:

The Mevlevi Order or the Mevleviye are a Sufi order founded in Turkey. They are also known as the Whirling Dervishes due to their famous practice of whirling as a form of dhikr (remembrance of God)
